Skills and abilities

  • I started sailing when I was very young, and since then the marine world has always been a central part of my life. Over the years, I have gained experience in different classes and contexts, starting with Optimist, then moving on to Laser and offshore racing. These experiences helped me develop discipline, boat-handling skills, attention to safety, and resilience in demanding conditions. My professional goal is to work on board superyachts, combining my passion for the sea with a solid technical and engineering background. In the long term, my ambition is to become a captain, bringing on board not only sailing experience but also a strong technical foundation and understanding of modern yacht problems. After my offshore racing experience, I also worked as a skipper and base manager for a charter company. This allowed me to develop practical skills in yacht management, routine maintenance, base operations, customer and crew relations, and the resolution of technical and operational issues.
    Further Abilities
I have a background in Computer Science Engineering, through which I developed technical and analytical skills that are also applicable to the yachting sector. In particular, I gained experience in problem solving, programming, data management and analysis, automation, digital tools, and the understanding of complex systems. This background trained me to work methodically, precisely, and with strong attention to detail. These are important qualities on board, where it is necessary to understand problems quickly, find practical solutions, and maintain an organized approach to technical and operational management.
    Soft skills
I have developed strong interpersonal skills through my sporting, professional, and academic experiences in team-based environments. Racing taught me the importance of clear communication, respect for roles, collaboration, and the ability to remain focused under pressure. In my work as a skipper and base manager, I interacted with clients, crews, technicians, and colleagues, developing listening skills, people management, and operational coordination. I am used to working in teams, contributing responsibly to shared objectives, and adapting to dynamic and multicultural environments.
    Organizational skills
    Technical skills
Strong computer and digital skills. Practical yachting experience including rigging, basic mechanical repairs, routine maintenance, basic outboard servicing, impeller replacement, and minor electrical troubleshooting such as checking connections and replacing fuses. Good experience with tender handling, Mediterranean mooring techniques, anchoring, line handling, fender positioning, marina manoeuvres, and general deck operations.
