Personal info

  • As can be seen in my CV, I have over 37 years of experience in the yachts and ships industry. I started as a deckhand /captain on yachts up to 40 meters, then progressed to roles of deck officer, chief officer up to 186 meters, and as captain on research vessels up to 48meters. I’ve a solid background in ISM and ISPS compliance, familiarity with the International conventions, and a good grasp of current legislation, including budgeting and administration. Having overseen the modernization of an oceanographic ship, and the refit of several yachts, I am sure I will not disappoint your expectations. Thank you for considering my application. Please feel free to contact me for any further details or references.
In addition to the experience of sailing, managing the safety of the guests on board, and the ship itself, I have gained a lot of experience over the years on crew management, which is crucial on yachts, and necessarily a very good knowledge of Mediterranean navies.
As I said before the relationship is the management of the staff is crucial on yachts, no matter how big they may be, they are still small, if you don't establish the right human relationship, obviously with respect for roles, it doesn't work.
Early in my career I did boats where I was also in charge of the engine room, and I was contributing to the proper maintenance on deck of paint maintenance
