Note personali
To whom it may concern,
My name is Julian Marais, and I am a healthy 29-year-old South African male, with a valid passport and Seaman’s book. I get on with all different cultures. I am currently in South Africa but available in 1 -2 weeks’ time. I am willing to travel anywhere needed.
I pride myself in being a polite, self-motivated individual with a positive attitude. I am comfortable working long hours, getting my hands dirty, working in extreme weather conditions and recognize the importance of fitting into a tightly functioning crew.
In addition to being a certified deckhand with a Powerboat level 2 and Tender driving ticket, I have also completed my sailing Internship on both a 42 FT Sail and a 38 FT Motor Catamaran. I have gained 300 NM during my internship and gained so much experience from sailing and knots to climbing the mast. Further I have previously worked on various Catamarans in Cape Town (SA) and Croatia.
My previous experience (7 months) on an offshore supplier’s vessel has taught me to ensure the safety of other crew members and passengers. I received excellent experience regarding painting, chipping, and sanding.
My primary focus is to obtain a permanent or seasonal position as a deckhand on a Charter or Private Motor / Sailing Yacht with the vision of increasing my skill set and knowledge to further enhance the overall yachting experience.
I understand that the competition in this industry is high, but I won’t let you down.
I am committed to maintaining a high standard of safety, service, and efficiency and confident that I can excel in this fast-paced environment.
Thank you for considering my application, awaiting your positive reply and interest pertaining to my CV and reference checks.
Please note that I can obtain a Seafarers visa in 7 days’ time.
Julian Marais
