Personal Notes
I've been working as mate on the same 22m sailing yacht, privately and commercially operated, for 8 years; then I step up as Captain with seasonal employment on a 70 and on a 90 footer performance SY. As mate of watch I completed ocean deliveries on different sailing yachts, up to 34m.
I am a passionate sailor, since I started on dinghies at the age of 5.
I like sailboats even as mere "objects", so I'm really committed on keeping my boat tidy and shiny, and as far as possible always operational and ready to receive guests.
I am a patient and easy going person, I like to create an environment relaxed but safe and efficient at the same time, onboard as in everyday life.
I became independent on carrying out the ordinary operation and mantainance of the deck, the hull, the rigging, the systems, the engine room and the interiors of a relatively small luxury yacht.
I've collaborated with the Captains in the passages and cruises planning and concerted with them the decisions regarding the extra-ordinary works.
I am aware of the responsibilities of the Master and his representitives, and I've being in charge of the boat for long periods of absence of the rest of the crew.
I am used to carry on my tasks alone and in autonomy, but I found rewarding the experience I had with a cohesive and strong crew of six.
I'm now looking forward for my first experience on command of a sailing yacht, and I think that the right step would be taking the Captain position on a 50-75 feet.
I would also be interested on a different position on the deck of a boat with and intensive sailing program, or bigger and more "important", in order to acquire more navigational and technical skills.
I like the sea, the nature, and the travels.
I used to like sailing mostly for racing, but now I also appreciate it as a way to know new places and people.
I still like dinghy sailing, and snorkeling, freediving and scuba diving.
I love kitesurfing and I dedicate to it most of my free time and holydays.
