I come from a background in the restaurant industry, and after graduating in Foreign Languages and Literatures, I decided to completely change my life and set out to sea. At first, I wasn’t sure exactly what my role would be in this vast world, but I knew I wanted to live out there in the ocean, moving with the wind. My strong sense of community has never made me afraid of living in close quarters with others; on the contrary, it has motivated me and become a source of growth.
I enjoy exchanging ideas, especially with people different from me, as they allow me to see things from new perspectives—and I am always happy when I can do the same for others. What I seek in life is constant change, with the aim of evolving and learning new things. I am thirsty for knowledge, but also aware that there is a form of intelligence that only love and a certain attitude can reveal.
Adaptability is one of my strongest qualities, which is why over the past four years I have taken on different roles within crews. While I lack formal professional training in sailing, I have observed, asked questions, and learned as much as possible on the job. I am not yet fully independent when it comes to sailing itself, but I am completely autonomous in managing the interior, provisioning, cooking meals for more than ten people, and taking care of both guests and crew. I am also confident in watchkeeping assistance, mooring and anchoring, and knot work.
This October I will obtain my RYA Day Skipper and STCW certifications, and from November I hope to join a sailing vessel to cross the Atlantic and explore the Caribbean islands.
