  • Personal Notes
I am looking for Crew, Captain or Chief Mate position on Traghetti, leisure and hospitality yacht or Ships based in Palermo, Italy, where my wife will be completing her Medical Doctor’s degree, starting July 2017. I am also open to entry-level technical, electrical, [orthopaedic] equipment manufacturing, or watch-making work. I love working with my hands to benefit people. I am currently happy with my job as a private sailing yacht captain, based in Kusadasi, Turkey. I have been a seafarer since 2005, for the past 5 years as STCW 1978 Certified Yachtmaster/Captain 500gt limitless, previously for 6 years as STCW 1978 Certified Seaman. I am very responsible, competent and experienced in 500 gross ton-and-below sailing and motor yacht full operations, machinery and exterior maintenance, with wide array of knowledge. I also love to continuously learn languages and technical skills. I am respectful, having been completely trustworthy of employers’ high-valued possessions, and aim to appease my employers. I love showing how beautiful our seas are, and to respect her, providing a pleasurable experience to my guests. My hobby subjects include geography, history, animals and wildlife biology, organic farming and sustainable community living, rafting and sea activities. Our ambition is to use our skills and love of God to bring hope to the hopeless in humanitarian work.
  • Competencies
I grew up in this ancient famous Biblical seaport town of Kusadasi/Ephesus, where Christianity first established. My step-father was a fisherman who made his own boats. The sea is in my DNA as our lives have depended on her. My brothers all work in the sea - one is based in Beirut for a privileged American-entrepreneur giant. One is a professional fisherman. They introduced me to influential Greek ship makers based in London, and everyone likes me very much to want me to work for them.
  • Soft skills
I am very experienced and know teaching others is very important. I also know that one needs to communicate strategically (get to know the others with good relationship) to work well.
  • Organizational skills
I handle everything for the ship as its captain. I handle everything for our home so my wife can fully concentrate on becoming a good doctor, albeit our big financial challenges through these years. My goal is to love and see to success so i handle one thing at a time, according to its priority.
  • Technical skills
At home, I fix almost everything from sinks to ceilings to installing light fixtures to floor leaks. Computers: for pre-sail safety/weather checks only (not very savvy).
